Pick your town
Choose the town closest to your address. If your street sits between two, either page applies and the same line answers.
Each town page covers the local water and sewer provider, the permit office and the plumbing problems that show up most often in that area. Read the one nearest you before you call, so you know which questions to ask.
Mauldin, SC 29662
Mauldin is home base. The city reports about 31,465 residents in its 2025 Census estimate, and the office sits on Bridges Road beside the I-385 exit. Homes and businesses along Main Street (US 276), Butler Road and Corn Road are served directly from here.
Inside the city, the City of Mauldin runs its own sewer division for mains and manholes, and Greenville Water supplies drinking water. The services page lists everything we handle.
Towns with their own pages
Simpsonville sits about 4.5 miles southeast, Greenville about 8 miles northwest and Fountain Inn about 10 miles beyond Simpsonville. Taylors and Greer sit to the north and northeast along I-85.
Smaller places such as Conestee, Woodmont, Berea, Five Forks, Duncan, Piedmont and Powdersville are covered on request. Call and ask if your address is in doubt.
Why the utilities differ from town to town
Utilities change at town lines. Taylors is unincorporated and relies on Greenville County for permits. Greer runs water and sewer through its own Commission of Public Works. Greenville Water serves a large part of Greenville County, and Mauldin's mains belong to the city.
That matters in an emergency because the first call for a main break or street backup goes to the utility, not the plumber. Each town page names the right office.

Who to call first in an emergency
Not every emergency starts with a plumber. If water is flooding the street or a main has broken, call the water utility. In Mauldin, Greenville Water customer service is (864) 241-6000. For a sewer problem in the street or a manhole overflow, the City of Mauldin Public Works line is (864) 289-8904, and after hours it is (864) 289-8900.
If the problem is inside the property line, such as a burst pipe, a failed water heater, a blocked lateral or a leaking fixture, call the plumbing line at (855) 575-2890. Not sure which one it is? Check the meter first. A meter that keeps moving with every tap closed points to a leak on the customer side.
Permits depend on the city
A permit is required in the City of Mauldin before you add, alter or replace any plumbing system, and the contractor must be licensed, bonded and insured. Building and Zoning is at 5 E. Butler Rd, (864) 234-3475. Other towns have their own permit offices and their own rules.
That is one reason each town page here lists its own local office instead of repeating Mauldin's. When a job needs a permit, ask the plumber who pulls it and when. Getting that answer before the work starts keeps the job from stalling later.
How coverage is decided
Coverage is set by address and by the schedule on the day you call, not by a fixed list of ZIP codes. A street that sits right on a town line may belong to one town for mail and another for utilities, so the dispatcher asks for the full street address.
If you live in a smaller place around the core towns, call and ask. Where a job is out of range, the dispatcher says so on the call, and it is better to learn that in two minutes than after an hour of waiting.
Have the street address, the nearest cross street and a short description of the problem ready when you call. Those three details let the dispatcher match the job to a plumber quickly and tell you what to shut off while you wait.

Service area questions
Possibly. Call (855) 575-2890 with your street address and the dispatcher will tell you honestly whether it is in range.
No. One line, (855) 575-2890, covers every town and is open 24 hours a day.
Our base is ZIP 29662 in Mauldin. Coverage depends on the street address, not only the ZIP, since some ZIPs reach beyond city limits.
Greer sits in both counties. Call with your address and the dispatcher will confirm coverage.
The emergency line is the same everywhere in the service area. Arrival depends on the schedule and distance at that moment.
